Congratulations to the Kaspersky challenge winners at JunctionX Asia!

JunctionX Asia was organized together with Singapore, Hanoi, Chengdu and Seoul, for a completely online experience and target audience. At the conclusion of the event, JunctionX Asia had 337 signups, 59 project teams, 550 Slack workspace members, and Facebook event reach of 46,000 tech-minded people all over the world.

As the gold sponsor, Kaspersky joined the likes of Microsoft and Nokia, to issue problem statements to participating teams from around the world. During the three-day hackathon, teams could attempt one or even several of the problem statements. In addition, our leading researchers Vlad and Noushin also conducted two workshops on Machine Learning in Cybersecurity and IOT Cybersecurity for the participants, and Andrey and Kirill from our Innovation Hub mentored student teams as they worked on their projects.

After three full days, the teams shared some new ideas and creative solutions for our cybersecurity challenge to our Kaspersky panel of judges. The final winning team, Team N0H4ts, from the Singapore Institute of Technology, submitted their solution for monitoring rogue drones by using a live object recognition system for targeting rogue drones doing illegal activities. This group of cybersecurity majors combined their cybersecurity knowledge together and eventually submitted an award-winning solution!

Once again, congratulations to the winning team and stay tuned for more information on our Secur’IT Cup finals 2020!
