Kaspersky and CIISec hold a joint Cyber Day

The Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec) & Kaspersky.Academy have held an online webinar — CyberDay and gamified simulation on Wednesday 28th October 2020,14:00 — 17:00 GMT, exclusively for CIISec Academic partners and their students. More then 200 students from different UK Universities joined the live broadcast.

The aim of the event was to increase the awareness of students, graduate students and employees of universities in matters of information security. Cyberday is a unique half-day event offering expertise and an opportunity for students to learn from the best in the business.

The event consists of Global Cyber Security Threat Landscape lecture from David Emm who is Principal Security Researcher at Kaspersky, who joined Kaspersky Lab in 2004. He is a member of the company’s Global Research and Analysis Team and has worked in the anti-malware industry since 1990 in a variety of roles, including that of Senior Technology Consultant at Dr Solomon’s Software, and Systems Engineer and Product Manager at McAfee.

Then the lecture was followed up by a 2-hour training — Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation, performed by Lee Rendell, senior presales manager at Kaspersky, which gave participants an opportunity to feel a part of a cybersecurity department of a middle-size retail company. Finally, the winning team of this simulation was built up from students of Plymouth University and Angela Ruskin University. Winners received their prizes for the simulation, and we thank all the participants for joining us!
