Kaspersky delivers cyber safety workshop for teachers in India
As cyberattacks continue to rise in India, with more than half of web users faced a form of Internet-born cyberattack this year, it has become more crucial to educate the public on cyber safety.
To help fortify India’s cyber resilience, Kaspersky and Information and Security Analysis Center (ISAC) Foundation teamed up to deliver a workshop on cyber security hygiene, Indian cyber laws, and dealing with various forms of cyber crimes. Nearly 150 teachers from more than 30 schools participated in the workshop, which aimed to increase their confidence to share cyber resilience practices with their students and improve their capacity to support children to recover from setbacks.
The initiative is part of Kaspersky's commitment to create a global cyber-immune community by extending the company's expertise in cybersecurity education for the public.
“Our primary goal is to equip teachers with the essential know-how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, with the hope that these they will pass on their learning to their students, said Ms. Trishia Octaviano, Academic Affairs Manager for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky.
"In an era where digital literacy is as crucial as traditional education, our joint initiative with Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity firm, is a testament to our commitment to building cyber resilience among the younger generation. By building cyber awareness for school teachers, we enable them to protect the future of students and help them navigate the complexities of the digital world safely and responsibly,” shared Group Captain Aanand Naidu (Retd), Director, ISAC Foundation.
The initiative is the fourth leg of Kaspersky Kids’ Cyber Resilience Project for 2023 bi-regional tour, which conducted similar pioneering activities in Singapore, Philippines, and Malaysia.
