Train-the-trainer session in IT Carlow, Ireland

Our partner James Egen, with whom we formerly collaborated at Bahrain Polytechnic University where he acted as the Head of School of ICT and Web Media, has moved to Ireland and invited Kaspersky to share knowledge on Malware reverse engineering (MRE) with the teachers and lecturers from Institute of Technology, Carlow.

Alexander Eremin, malware analyst at Kaspersky Web-related threats Research group and Victor Chebyshev, Research Development Team Lead, Non-Intel Research visited Carlow, Ireland to teach a 4-day TTT course on MRE for 13 lecturers.

James Egan, IT Security lecturer, IT Carlow: «The training went very well indeed. The content was excellent and was very well received. We had 10 people complete all 4 days of the training. Their feedback was very positive and one of the things that really stood out was that Victor and Alexander were not trainers but were practitioners. The training has not finished yet as we have 4 homework exercises to complete over the next few weeks which are challenging but enjoyable. Thanks to you and the Kaspersky team for all of your efforts!»

In 2014 IT Carlow was named the Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year in Ireland. We really hope, that new course on Malware reverse engineering will be integrated to the Bachelor of Science in Cybercrime and IT Security curriculum and will help to improve the quality of education and interest of young specialists to cybersecurity market.
